accommodation, Arusha Coffee Lodge found at the foot of Mount Meru and hidden
amongst one of Tanzania’s largeAst coffee plantations. You will stay in one of the plantation cottages with its unique architecture that dates back to the early 1900s.

Day 2:Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver/ tour guide who will take you to
Tarangire National Park, located in Manyara Region. Tarangire is the sixth largest
national park in Tanzania after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi, and Mkomazi. Activities
will include a wildlife game drive where you can see pythons climb trees, as well as lions
and leopards among others.
For the bird lovers, keep an eye for the screeching flocks of colorful yellow-collared
lovebirds, and the somewhat drabber rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling. These are
all endemic to the dry savannah of north-central Tanzania.

After breakfast, we will proceed to a walking safari escorted by a professional armed
ranger. In the afternoon, there will be another game drive at Tarangire National park. In
this park, you are to see large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and the fascinating
baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for the almost mythical powers that some
cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for the Tarangire river which flows all year round and is the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.

Day 4:Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we will set off to Lake Manyara National Park for yet another exciting
game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic lake that made Ernest Hemingway
exclaim “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.
Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and if you are lucky, you can expect to see 100 of these in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.

Day 5:Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will depart for a full-day game drive at the Ngorongoro Conservation
Area. This is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley,
with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. It is not a national park in
the strict sense of the word but was rather established to conserve wildlife and other
natural resources.
It exists to safeguard the interests of indigenous people as well as promote tourism. Thus, guests on safari have the unique experience of seeing Maasai herdsmen with their cattle among the tremendous variety of wildlife found in the area.

Day 6-7:Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will set off for Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch, and a game
drives en route via Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. A
UNESCO world heritage site and recently proclaimed 7th wonder of the world, Serengeti
is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains.
Between July to October, witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge
through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily
before the 1,000 km (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again.
Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you up-
close look at the animals you’ve only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephants, and giraffes, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala
and Grant’s gazelle.

Day 8-9:Serengeti National Park (North Lobo)
After breakfast, we will head north of Serengeti for a full-day game drive in the wilderness
tracking the Great migration trails. Witness a million wildebeests, each one driven by the
same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 miles) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north.

- Footwear: Comfortable hiking boots are essential for trekking, while sandals or casual shoes work well for city exploration.
- Rain Gear: A waterproof jacket and pants are recommended, especially during the rainy season (March-May and October-November).
- Sun Protection: Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. The sun can be intense, particularly at higher elevations.

- Packing for the Seasons: Dry season (June–October) is great for wildlife viewing, while the rainy seasons (March-May, October-November) bring lush landscapes but may make some roads impassable.
6. Currency and Money Matters
- Local Currency: Rwanda uses the Rwandan Franc (RWF), Uganda uses the Ugandan Shilling (UGX), Kenya the Kenyan Shilling (KES), and Tanzania the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS).
- Foreign Currency: U.S. Dollars are widely accepted, especially for larger payments like park fees and accommodations. However, smaller transactions should be made in local currency.

7. Cultural Etiquette and Customs
- Respecting Local Culture: East African countries are rich in diverse cultures and traditions. Be respectful of local customs, dress modestly when visiting rural areas, and always ask before taking photos of people.
- Language: English is widely spoken in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, though Swahili is a common regional language. Learning a few basic phrases in Swahili or Kinyarwanda can enhance your experience.
- SIM Cards and Internet: Local SIM cards are readily available, and most accommodations offer Wi-Fi. Ensure your phone is unlocked before you travel.
- Voltage and Plugs: East African countries use a mix of plug types, including British type G (three-pin) and European type C (two-pin). The voltage is typically 220-240V.
9. Important Notes for Adventure Activities
- Gorilla Trekking Permits: If you're participating in gorilla trekking, permits must be booked in advance due to limited availability. Bring sturdy boots, gloves, and gaiters for trekking through the dense forest.
